Mindfulness for Sexual Violence Trauma Healing

♦ Mindfulness & Trauma ♦

Research is showing increasing evidence that mindfulness practice is helpful in healing from all kinds of trauma. This free 1-hour webinar is on the ways mindfulness can benefit the healing process of survivors of violence against women.  We will cover basic principles of mindfulness, some of the brain science of trauma and mindfulness, and will include teachings on simple meditation practices that help us to recognize and nurture the mind’s natural qualities of awareness, mindfulness.

One out of three (1/3) women are targets of sexual violence, both here in Canada and worldwide. We must, as citizens of the world, promote compassion and respect, cultivate a culture of consent, and uphold our human right to live free from violence. We also need to hold abusers accountable for their actions. And we must help those 35% of women who suffer damaging effects of gender-based violence.
This video covers:
  • What is Mindfulness (with a short practice),
  • Basic Neuroscience of Mindfulness & Trauma,
  • Mindful Belly Dance Lesson as Embodied Practice.
